About Us
Hello there. My name is Colonel Eric Bertolet, the founder and owner of the Safe Nation Radio Broadcast, LLC. The “Colonel” in my name comes from the Kentucky Colonels (www.kycolonels.org). The Colonels have a long-standing tradition of charitable work, and have a who’s who list such as Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill, John Glenn, and many more.
I have been a full time safety professional since 1989, holding several certifications such as Occupational Health and Safety Technologist, (OHST) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), and am a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate. I was a firefighter and EMS coordinator for Galvez-Lake VFD for 3 years, was proud to serve as a member and squad leader of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s office reserve division for over 11 years, and have Coast Guard certification for Boat Patrol. I am a firearms expert and in 2003 was awarded the “Top Gun” award for marksmanship, outscoring every other member of that department.
I am also a member of the Louisiana Tactical Emergency Medical Service, (LaTEMS) training Medics to work with SWAT teams. Most of this training is conducted at Angola State Prison.
I now work as the Corporate Safety Manager at a TOPCOR Companies in the Baton Rouge area, and live in Prairieville with my wife and four sons.
